Glen Brown, a Blackman appointee, who I heard took the position on the Animal Services Board so that he could get investigative contracts with the City and also whose wife allegedly works for the City, is now president of the Commission. God help us all.
Naturally, as a Blackman/Villaraigosa appointee, he has no animal experience whatsoever.
I understand that ever since he realized he could not get a contract with the City until he left the Commission, he has been doing everything possible to get away. I guess kicking him up a rung is supposed to get him to stick around.
Boks had nothing but praise for him, mentioning all of Brown's PI and security background experience, but ZIP about any animal related experience or interest--because he doesn't have any. Maybe he wants Brown to investigate ADL for free.
This guy is no hope or advocate for the animals, but purely a political appointee without a clue.
When does the stupidity and corruption of Villaraigosa's administration end? We thought Hahn was bad news, who thought Villaraigosa would be worse?
Here is Boks announcement of Brown's elevation to head puppet:

Are you beginning to see now?
ReplyDeleteThe man never returns my emails. He just votes for what the mayor wants, which is not to the animals' benefit.
ReplyDelete'Been to the meetings. Riordan fights a good fight but she is outnumbered by the others who vote the company line.
ReplyDeleteRiordan's time has passed.
ReplyDeleteGlen Brown was picked by Jimmy Blackman. He just wanted a "black man in a specific voting district." He said he did not want an animal person, and he got just that. Glen Brown brown noses the Mayor. He'll do whatever Antonio says because he wants money from government gigs.
ReplyDeleteKathleen is almost all by herself now to fight for the animals.
