Charlottesville Maintains Near No-Kill Status in 08

The Charlottesville SPCA is still maintaining its near No-Kill status with a 92.4% save rate for dogs and a 86.1% save rate for cats for 2008. They have a combined save rate 88.6%.

This is a smaller sized shelter handling about 4,500 animals a year, equivalent to one of LAAS' smaller shelters. However, Los Angeles' resources are many, many times that of Charlotesville Virginia.

The shelter is run by Suzanne Kogut, one of Winograd's proteges
