I am the lead of a unit that serves seniors in their homes. And I will tell you right now that I have seen enough to say that this program is not in the best interest of either the senior citizens or the animals. If there are seniors who have a good income AND GOOD HEALTH, then that's fine but there does need to be screening as to income and ability to maintain their pets. Pushing the harder to place pets off on the very people who can ill afford them is wrong.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25037502.post-21418131390673138822007-07-21T06:45:00.000-07:002007-07-21T06:45:00.000-07:00This critic just happened to have had a fund for l...This critic just happened to have had a fund for low income senior citizens to provide medical vet care. This critic has seen first hand the suffering these animals endure. Young cats already blind because of the lack of proper food, their teeth rotted out at 2 years of age. Same with dogs. And these are not exceptions, these are rules. But these people loved their pets, I don't doubt that, and they felt they were doing the best they could, I don't doubt that. I still believe in a quality life over a quantity life. An experienced critic's opinion.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
