People Who Don't Deal With Animals Get Paid the Most

.
The below salaries are from a Daily News article. It gives the salaries of all LAAS employees.

http://lang.dailynews.com/socal/citypayroll/

As you can see, the adminsitrative people who never touch an animal unless they have to, get paid the most--except for vets. Vets get paid better than some administrators, but pretty poorly compared to private practice.

I am glad the Chief Vet, Steve Feldman is paid enough to tend to his garden; hope he ets a city car too. Cynthia Hockman gets $92,000. I understand she is at West Valley now replacing Rao.

Interesting that Linda Barth gets paid more than Boks.

Boswell makes $59,000.

HOLY COW! BOSWELL MAKES LESS THAN $59,000?

BEFORE TAXES?!

That is absolutely horrendous.

I sure hope his wife makes more than that because you couldn't possibly own your own home and pay bills and have animals on the kind of emotional and physical stress that job involves.

Holy Crap! I have got to admire lieutenant Boswell more than ever now.

He makes less than my husband, and we're just staying above water with the labor intesive care and financial expenses involved with trying to keep homeless cats healthy and well-maintained.

UNBELIEVABLE!

Those salaries need to get evened out according to WHO IS HANDLING AND CARING for and CLEANING UP AFTER THE ANIMALS AND KEEPING THEM HEALTHY....

Man, oh, man. I have got to respect Boswell a ton times over for what he does out there and in the office.

Thanks for this post, Mr. Muzika!

Look at the ACT's salaries. They're making 35-42K a year, single mothers who've been there for years.

Boks also gets a city paid car and cell phone besides other expenses reimbursed. He got money to move to LA from NYC. The salary doesn't cover other bonuses, incentives, health insurance and reimbursements. For instance budget for the Dept is 20M but it's actually 32M when you figure in pensions, bonuses, insurance...

It is sad. The City of Los Angeles has so many mid-level people who make such overbloated salaries compared to salaries in the private sector. And isn't it humorous that the AGM, Linda Barth, a career bureaucrat. now makes more than General Manager Boks. Tells me a lot about what Antonio thinks about his GM of ACC.
